We perform surveys of dangerous and inaccessible areas, such as unstable, flooded or swampy zones, industrial areas, where the traditional topographic techniques couldn’t be effectively used.
The experience gained during more than 15 years on the field, allowed to develop a specific competence as far as concern the technical evaluation of the damages before and after the calamitous event. It has been possible therefore to develop a system that is able to offer, in a short time and without risk for the operators, technical cartography (ortophotografic images, vectorial mapping,…) useful for the activities of emergencies management.
- before an emergency: the activity can involve a large area (more than 10 km2) or a particular zone (in which for example evolving phenomena have been identified), offering geolocalized three-dimensional images from which technical maps can be extrapolated in order to analyze the phenomenon and to design intervention of prevention and/or mitigation. The investigation can have the aim to individuate the main morphologic parameters of an area to be used to develop provisional models (floods, landslides, avalanches, costal erosions,….) or to make a micro-zoning of the forecast damage (for example seismic analysis);
- during the monitoring of the phenomena: the monitoring of situations that have evolving dynamics such as to allow or even require a direct observation (often placed in inaccessible positions) can be performed also by the three-dimensional comparison of high resolution images (3x3cm) taken at different moments, using also the Near Infra Red spectra;
- during an emergency: the necessity to evaluate the real damage impose to operate in non standard conditions, sometimes even at high risk, with very short processing and restitution times. The habit to work in these conditions allows to offer directly on field the decision support service which the Civil Protection Authorities need to develop rapidly;
- after the emergency: the documentation collected also after the event supports the authorities in the accurate management of the post-emergency phase, because the high detailed survey allows to identify with high precision the damaged areas, both in the case of extended events (for example flooded areas and areas damaged by earthquakes), and in the case of punctual events (for example industrial plants inside a factory).
